Physiofit originated from an idea by Rutgerus to establish an outpatient private practice, which allows to treat patients without overcrowded schedules, sufficient time for each treatment and no alternative motive for financial excess.
"Healthcare as it is supposed to be." An idealist's view.
Rutgerus was soon joined by his wife Crystal, to assist with the quickly expanding administrative requirements, and Gino to provide Occupational Therapy. Gino, another idealist, liked what he saw and felt there was a need for a similar practice in the Golden Meadow region. Several months later this became a reality.
Though we have grown quite a bit since then, our ideas and goals have not changed. We've maintained high standards of care. Every patient receives a true "hands on" experience. Success rates are very high. We are always participating in performance evaluations and outcomes studies through programs as "FOTO" on state and national levels. Patient feedback to their referring physicians, family members and friends has been our main source for success.
Physiofit is a member of organizations as PTPN and SPRN. These are networks, represented by people who stand for quality of care and reinforcement of that quality by requiring that our facilities meet certain standards. They represent us, the providers, in negotiating contracts with insurance companies, the payors, to assure fair reimbursement for services rendered. Individual contracts with payors often means less than fair reimbursement and ultimately a lesser quality of care. We are proud to be members and proud that we continuously meet the criteria.
All Therapists are encouraged to participate in continued education. One or more manual therapy classes, and one specialty, new or alternative treatment class annually. Some classes taken for example: Vertigo/vestibular rehab, Acupressure techniques, Strain Counterstrain, Kinesiotaping, Sports Medicine, Wellness Therapy and Primal Reflex Therapy. Administrative staff members attend classes related to insurance claims, office administration and HIPAA and OSHA. All team members are CPR certified.
The plan: Continue with quality care, in a pleasant environment and as times change, we change and remain always "up to date".
